Evolutionary Integral Equations: An Introduction

Abstract:

In this survey talk, after a brief collection of examples from applications, I will present some fundamental results for the simplest evolutionary integral equations, namely for linear autonomous scalar problems.
These results will include well-posedness, employing Laplace-transform theory and Bernstein's theorem, as well as significant results on stability and asymptotic behaviour of solutions. The talk will be based on my book "Evolutionary Integral Equations and Applications" which recently has been reprinted in the series "Birkhäuser Classics".
