Der Besuch der Veranstaltung entspricht 3 ECTS Punkten. Mit Vortrag und Ausarbeitung ergeben sich 5 ECTS Punkte.
Within the last years control of complex networks has evolved as one of the central issues of applied nonlinear science. Of particular interest is the interplay of nonlinear network dynamics with complex topologies, stochastic influences, heterogeneities, and delay, and the issue of control by small perturbations to steer the system to a desired target state or stabilize a desired state. In the focus of the seminar will be power grids- complex networks of broad significance. Their complexity is reflected by a rich variety of collective behaviour and instabilities. An imperative condition for the functioning of a power grid is that its power generators remain synchronized, even with fluctuating sources, e.g., wind turbines. We will discuss different control approaches that enhance network synchronization, and their application to real power grid networks.
