Physiologically based modeling and simulation in pharmaceutical industry from the whole body down to cellular level
Dr. Michael Block (Bayer Technology Services GmbH, Leverkusen)
The talk will give an introduction on physiologically based modeling.It
will be explained in detail how modeling on different biological scales
can be combined and contribute to an understanding of the complex
processes on the macroscopic scale, namely the whole body.
Additionally an overview concerning the relevant questions in the
pharmaceutical industry will be given. In particular the question on how
simulation of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and disease can be
adressed by such concepts will be answered.
