Aims

Important Results of the Grant Period 2004 - 2007:
In the previous proposal time-period we gained fundamental knowledge on the mechanism of time-delayed feedback control of noise-induced oscillations as well as of deterministic fixed points and periodic orbits. We investigated simple generic models (Van der Pol oscillator, FitzHugh-Nagumo model, normal form of a Hopf bifurcation) and studied applications on spatially extended systems (globally coupled reaction-diffusion models) describing semiconductor nanostructures, on front dynamics in semiconductor superlattices and on the Oregonator model of an active medium with local diffusion.
- Stabilization of fixed points by time-delayed feedback
 - Stabilization of periodic orbits by time-delayed feedback
 - Stabilization of deterministic spatio-temporal patterns
 - Time-delayed feedback control of noise-induced oscillations
 - Time-delayed feedback control of noise-induced patterns in semiconductors
 - Nonlinear, chaotic and noise-induced front dynamics and noise-induced front dynamics in nanostructures
